Recognising the need for finance advisory firms able to combine a high quality and personal service but with affordable fees he then started Igloo.co.uk offering both personal and commercial finance solutions.

He also holds industry qualifications in CeMAP (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice) and in CeCM (Certificate in Commercial Mortgages). Igloo.co.uk is a member of the NACFB (National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers), the UK trade body dedicated to the commercial finance broker and to maintaining high standards of practice

Igloo.co.uk was started by Richard Tanner, a Chartered Accountant with extensive management experience in dynamic businesses with high service standards. After qualifying with PriceWaterhouse he was Head of Finance at the Institute of Directors then Finance Director of Decisions Group, a successful marketing and call centre support company. He then lived in St Lucia for several years, running his own business, before returning as Finance and Commercial Director of Impact Solutions Group, an international oil service company.

At Decisions Group he was part of the team that grow the company from £2 million turnover to over £20 million turnover in 4 years, successfully implementing a rescue plan following the receivership of the major shareholder, negotiating a private equity investment and helping turning a loss to £2 million profit.

At Impact Solutions Group he joined during the start up of the company in 2002, restructured the business following the departure of the original founder, helped secure equity funding and remained on the Board helping oversee growth to over £20 million and its successful sale in 2009.
